Hi Shannon, What a fun way of incorporating the holidays, biblical teaching, and time together with the whole family! Being the Mother of the home, we have a lot of responsibilities on our shoulders and a lot of people depending on us. We create the atmosphere of the home as well as the activities. You are helping to create in your young sons minds, wonderful memories of time spent at home. Some day when they are off at college, or even starting their own homes, they will be drawn back to the wonderful fond memories you have created. In Proverbs 31, it talks of the children rising up and calling the mother (you) blessed... I can see that being done in the future... : )

Today Seth and I talked about the people we are thankful for. We made turkey's out of our hands and even had dad do it to when he got home. We cut out 5 feathers in 5 different colors and wrote down the names of the people we are thankful. We then prayed for them. We are going to continue to pray for the people on our turkey's everyday until Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for two healthy babies, and the wonder of being able to see a tiny little being only 2 1/2 inches long inside of you!

I'm thankful for God being being wiser than we are, and being able to trust in His faithfulness.

For friends and family and fellowship.

And for being able to make in a difference in your child's life.

I'm thankful for little hands that make little turkeys for placemats!

I'm thankful for little girls that remind us to have a child like faith in God (ie. my 3 year old ask me one day when it was raining if God got wet when He watered the world).

I'm thankful for a husband who works hard so I can stay home to raise my daughters in a Christian home- to daily show them the love of Christ.

I'm thankful for little girls that smile just because you looked at them- especially on days when you need that soo badly.

I'm thankful for great friends and great places to "talk" to them at.

I'm thankful for bowls of melted chocolate and Oreos.

When we gather around the Thanksgiving table this month, here is an activity you can do with the extended family. When your guests first arrive at the house and you take their coat, direct them over to a box and index cards. Have them write on the index card one thing they are thankful for and place in the box. Children may need to be helped. During the meal, when everyone is enjoying dessert, have someone read what was shared on the cards.
